Charity Golf Tournament

benefiting Helping Hand Home for Children

Thanks to all who helped raise $23,000 for the children of Helping Hand Home!

On April 23, 116 golfers gathered at River Place Country Club for the 1st Annual Groovy Invitational. Former University of Texas football coach Fred Akers kicked off the tournament with a heartfelt message about the important work that goes on at Helping Hand Home for Children.

After the golf, players were treated to a fajita buffet and live music from Austin's own James Hand. Bob Fonseca of KLBJ FM's "Dudley and Bob Show" emceed the evening's ceremonies and guests enjoyed browsing the silent auction.

The $23,000 that was raised at this 1st Annual Event will pay for Camp Discovery, the on-site educational summer camp program for the children at Helping Hand Home.
