Foster Care Program

The Pearson Therapeutic Foster Care Program was founded in 1995 on the belief that a loving home can save a child. Our foster homes serve children from birth to eighteen years old. Depending on the level of care needed, Helping Hand Home places children into basic foster care homes or therapeutic foster care homes. Children in our therapeutic foster homes need treatment services but can function successfully in a foster home with specially trained and supported foster parents.

Therapeutic Foster Care is a specialized type of foster care for children requiring a little more guidance and structure to help them be successful at home, in school, and with their families and friends. Children eligible for this program have experienced severe abuse and/or neglect. Some children may be placed in foster care immediately after removal from their homes, while others may be coming from a treatment facility for abused children.

Basic Foster Care is for children from birth to eighteen years old that need a loving home but do not require additional specialized treatment services.
