Helping Hand Home for Children offers a wide range of benefits to help our employees stay physically, mentally, and financially healthy. Our comprehensive medical and financial plan will help you and your family prepare for the future - and stay happy and healthy today.

Medical Insurance
Helping Hand Home for Children’s medical plan is managed by UnitedHealthcare, Inc. and is a larger Preferred-Provider Organization (PPO). When services are obtained from providers within the network, you will have a $20 co-payment, however there is a deductible. Regular, full-time employees become eligible for medical insurance coverage after 60 days of employment and are covered at no cost to the employee. Coverage for eligible dependents is available at full cost to the employee.

Prescriptions
The Home’s medical plan also offers affordable prescription rates for members of the plan. Members pay minimal co-payments at local pharmacies or they may order prescriptions on-line or via U.S. mail for home delivery. Regular, full-time employees become eligible for medical plan coverage, which includes the prescription benefit, after 60 days of employment.

Dental Insurance
Helping Hand Home for Children’s employee-paid dental plan is managed by UnitedHealthcare. Regular, full-time employees become eligible after 60 days of employment and are covered at a small cost to the employee. Coverage for eligible dependents is available at an additional cost to the employee.

Vision Benefits
Helping Hand Home for Children’s vision plan, which covers an eye exam every two years, is also managed by UnitedHealthcare.

401(k)
Plan for the future with Helping Hand Home for Children’s 401(k) savings and incentive plan, which allows you to contribute pre-tax dollars towards your retirement nest egg. After 2 full years of employment, the Home will annually contribute a percentage of your annual salary to your 401(k) plan with the percentage determined annually by the Board of Directors.

Group Life insurance
Helping Hand Home for Children provides $15,000 of basic life insurance to help provide financial security and protection for you and your family. Regular, full-time employees become eligible after 60 days of employment. The plan also provides $15,000 of accidental death and dismemberment insurance while you are an active employee.

Long-term disability
Helping Hand Home for Children provides Long-term Disability (LTD) to all regular, full-time employees. LTD provides you with financial assistance when you have a long-term disability due to injury or illness. Regular, full-time employees become eligible after 90 days of employment.

Employee Assistance Program
Mental health counseling and crisis intervention is available to all Home employees and their relatives beginning on their date of hire.

Paid Time Off
Paid Time Off (PTO) provides you with paid time away from your job for such things as holidays, vacation, outside activities, personal business and family matters. You begin to accrue PTO hours your first day of active employment with the Home and are eligible to use your PTO after 6 months of full-time employment.

Sick Leave
All regular, full-time employees earn 12 days of Sick Leave annually.
